Communities In Schools (CIS) of Michigan, along with partner TechSmith, is thrilled to announce that we are once again hosting the “We All Win” Backpack Giveaway! The event, open to all students in and around East Lansing, will take place on Wednesday, August 6, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. (or as supplies last) at the TechSmith headquarters, located at 14 Crescent Drive in East Lansing.  Sparty will also be making an appearance at the event! 

Communities In Schools (CIS) of Michigan, with help from partner Delta Dental, will be distributing backpacks to students attending the Benton Harbor Public Schools Back 2 School Bash on Thursday, August 14, 2025.

Power 96.5, Lansing’s leading Hip Hop and R&B station, is partnering once again with Communities In Schools of Michigan to host its 16th annual Backpack Giveaway, supporting Lansing area students as they gear up for the new school year. The event will take place on Thursday, August 15, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (or while supplies last) at the Don Johnson Field House parking lot (400 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Lansing, MI), near the Eastern High School Football Field. The giveaway will be held in a convenient drive-thru format, with backpacks filled with school supplies available on a first-come, first-served basis.
